January 13, 2022: Plant of the Week- Wyethia angustifolia (Narrowleaf Mule’s Ears)

Wyethia angustifolia, also known as “Narrowleaf Mule’s Ears,” is a perennial that can grow from 1 to 3 feet tall. It grows best in sandy to well drained soil in full sunlight, and can be found from hills to meadows. You can recognize them by their bright yellow flowers with orange centers and long, lance shaped leaves that bloom May through July. This perennial is good for your garden if you like plants that are easy to grow, and look like sunflowers! They are also enjoyed by pollinators and birds.
