March 10, 2022: Plant of the Week- Oxalis oregana (Wood Sorrel)
The Oxalis oregana (Wood Sorrel) is a perennial ground cover than can grow from 2-6 inches tall. It is found in moist woods in partly shady areas. You can recognize it by it large, white, 5 petal flowers that have purple or red veining. The 3 leaflets are heart shaped with a purple underside. Wood Sorrel is great for your garden as it brings many pollinators, and can also be eaten fresh or cooked!
