June 2, 2022: Plant of the Week- Eriophyllum lanatum (Woolly Sunflower)
Eriophyllum lanatum, the Woolly Sunflower is a perennial that can grow from 1 to 2 feet tall, and about 2 feet wide. This plant grows best in well drained soil, with full to part sun. And can be found in dry, open areas. The leaves are a grayish green color, with a fuzzy look to them, while the flowers are bright yellow, that bloom May through August. This plant will add a cheery brightness to your garden throughout the spring and summer, and attract beneficial insects, such as butterflies!
