Strawberries of the Northwest

It is strawberry season!! Woohoo!!  I think most of us can say that strawberry season feels like summer and oh my they are delicious.  Did you know that there are three different types of strawberries native to WA?
Beach strawberry, Fragaria chiloensis, that is a drought tolerant sun lover with dark green leaves.  First photo below.
Woodland strawberry, Fragaria vesca, our middle of the range strawberry that can take part sun and moister areas.  Bright green leaves and maybe some of the sweetest strawberries you have ever tasted.  Small but delicious and some say makes the best jam.  Second, third, and fourth photo below.
Mountain strawberry, Friagaia virginiana, more of a dry shade lover that has blueish leaves. Fifth and final photo below.
Looks like we have strawberries for everyone and every planting condition.  Come by and see them for yourself.
We are open Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10-3.
