Why is it good for my garden? Western red cedar is a great evergreen to have as a hedge row or just as a spot of green in the yard. Grows fast and is easy to grow. Shallow roots make it a tree that likes more water but will not grow in standing water. This tree is loved by loads of wildlife for food and habitat. Chestnut-backed Chickadee enjoy the seeds and find bugs in the Western red cedars.
