Why is it good for my garden? Pacific yew is a fantastic evergreen to have. One of the only evergreens to survive a shady area with a great sprawling shape. Beautiful berries that contrast well with the dark green foliage. Attracts wildlife. Berries can be eaten but if chewed seed are poisonous. Actually, all of this plant is poisonous except berries. Yew was traditionally used to make bows and arrows.
