Height: This rhizomatous perennial can grow to 5 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil in full to part shade.
Foliage: Opposite, toothed, hairy, veined, green leaves.
Flowers: Pink to reddish purple tube shaped flowers sprout out around flower stock and bloom June though August.
Bark: Part of the mint family this plant has a square stock.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist forest understory.
Why is it good for my garden? This plant is a great natural bug repellent. Good ground cover for moist areas.
