Height: This evergreen tree can grow from 60 to 100 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in well drained soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Soft, delicate, bright green needles.
Fruits: Small egg shaped cones.
Bark: Dark brown thick scaly bark.
Natural Habitat: Found along the Pacific coast starting in Oregon and going South.
Why is it good for my garden? Coast redwoods are a very large, fast growing tree so plant in a place that has lots of room. These trees are sensitive to cold winds so may get some die back or burnt branches if exposed to cold Northeastern winds.
