Height: This evergreen, rhizomatous, grass can grow from 2 to 5 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows wet to moist soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Triangular stems at base with flat blades.
Flowers (Inflorescence): Small white to brown flowers that are sharp clusters form in groups at end of flower stock and bloom June through August.
Fruits: Pale or light brown see pack.
Natural Habitat: Wetlands, ditches, stream banks and other wet areas.
Why is it good for my garden? This is a great grass to put around a wet area, stream, or pond since it is evergreen, fast growing and can help with erosion control. Birds enjoy seeds.
