Height: This rhizomatous, perennial that has tubers can grow to 4 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in wet areas or ponds in full to part sun. Aquatic plant.
Foliage: Arrow shaped, veined, green leaves.
Flowers: White, three petaled flower with yellow center blooms July through September.
Natural Habitat: Found in ponds, lakes, swampy areas.
Why is it good for my garden? Wapato is a great plant for a pond. Easy to grow and grows fast so make sure you have room for this plant in your pond. Tubers were traditionally eaten cooked.
