Height: This thornless deciduous shrub from 3 to 5 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to dry soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Alternate, fan shaped, lobed, round toothed, green leaves.
Flowers: Long, tube shaped, white with maybe a hue of pink, sticky, flowers bloom in small clusters in April to June.
Fruits: Bright red, round, berries.
Bark: Gray brown bark.
Natural Habitat: Found from woodlands to foothills.
Why is it good for my garden? Wax currant is a nice compact plant with great shape to put in your yard. Like the other currants this one also is loved by hummingbirds for flowers and other wildlife for the berries.
