Quercus garryana - Oregon White Oak

Product Details

Height: This deciduous tree can grow 25 to 100 ft. tall.

Habitat: Grows best in dry to well drained soil in full sun.

Foliage: Alternate dark green, shiny, oblong, deeply lobed that are lighter colored underneath with hairs. Leaves turn yellow in fall.

Flowers: Small clusters of catkin flower in April through June.

Fruits: Oblong acorns form after flowers fade.

Bark: Light gray bark with deep furrows.

Natural Habitat: Found in prairies and meadows. Lots found out on the San Juan Islands.

Why is it good for my garden? This is a great tree for most any yard. Slow growing with a great shape. Acorns bring in wildlife like the Brown Creeper.
