Height: This evergreen shrub or ground cover can grow from 1 to 2 ft. tall.

Habitat: Grows best in dry to moist soil in full sun to full shade.

Foliage: Thick, green leaves that are toothed but not as sharp as the other Oregon grapes. Pink to red new growth and darker red to purple with more sun exposure.

Flowers: Small yellow flowers form clusters in April through June.

Fruits: Blue, edible berries.

Bark: Brown gray bark.

Natural Habitat: Found in open areas in forested slopes.

Why is it good for my garden? Creeping Oregon grape is a great evergreen taller ground cover. Yellow flowers and blue berries bring in pollinators and birds. Berries are tart but tasty.
