Height: This evergreen can grow from 1 to 3 ft. tall.

Habitat: Grows best in moist soil in full to part sun.

Foliage: Opposite, dark green, lance shaped, leathery leaves are fuzzy on underside and look almost gray green.

Flowers: Small, saucer shaped, pink to light purple flowers bloom May to June.

Fruits: Round hard seed packs.

Bark: Red brown, thin bark.

Natural Habitat: Found in bog areas and marshes from the coast to mountains.
