Height: This perennial grows from 1 to 2 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist soil in full to part sun. Can tolerate being under water in winter months.
Foliage: Green lance shaped leaves grow from base and can be evergreen in some areas.
Flowers: White flower with purple veins on the outer petals and purple blue inner petals.
Natural Habitat: Found in moist meadows and pine forests.
Why is it good for my garden? Western blue-flag iris is a nice plant to have along water features. This is a great alternative to the non native iris in that it will not take over your area but form nice large clump of beautiful flower.
