Height: This evergreen shrub can grow from 3 to 9 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in full to part sun in well drained to moist soil.
Foliage: Opposite oval to oblong yellow green leaves.
Flowers: Yellow to pinkish catkins form in winter and turn gray with age, bloom December to February.
Fruits: Round blue-black berries.
Bark: New growth has reddish bark that turns to brown with age.
Natural Habitat: Found in woodlands.
Why is it good for my garden? This shrub has beautiful color to a green area. Can tolerate salt spay. Grows well in most soil conditions make this an easy shrub to grow. Birds enjoy the fruit.
