Height: This rhizomatous grass can grow to 2 ft tall.

Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil and full to part sun.

Foliage: Narrow dark green blades form clumps. Mat-forming in shallow water habitats.

Flowers: Brown spikelets.

Natural Habitat: Found wide spread in wet areas.

Why is it good for my garden? This is a great plant for shallow water areas and can bring in a habitat for amphibians.
