Height: This long tap rooted perennial can grow up to 3 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in a full sun area that is well drained. Long tap root helps make this perennial drought tolerant.
Foliage: Large, arrowhead shaped, dense, grayish, hairy leaves.
Flowers: Bright yellow sunflower like flower that blooms April though July.
Natural Habitat: Found in grasslands and open areas east of the Cascades.
Why is it good for my garden? If you like sunflowers this is your plant. This perennial will come back each year with magnificent yellow flowers that attracts birds and butterflies along with other pollinators.
