Spring 2020 Plant sale CLOSURES and ADJUSTMENTS updated 3/19/2020

We have received the unfortunate news that due to COVID-19 some our treasured plants sales will be closed this year.

Plants sales effected spring 2020,

Fairhaven Plants and Tree Sale, March 28th at 1400 Larabee (Hill Crest Chapel Parking Lot) will be CLOSED this year

Conservation District Plant Sale, March 28th at Whatcom Community College is CLOSED but all efforts are being made to meet previously ordered plant obligations perhaps at another locations.  Stay tuned for details.

Skagit Valley Master Gardeners Plant Sale, May 5th at Skagit County Fairground is cancelled this year due to the Fairgrounds being closed till the end of May, again in the name of Public safety.

Our Nursery hours remain unaffected and we have fine folks down at the Plantas nativa nursery to assist with your native plant needs.

Statement issued in regards to COVID-19,

In the interest of public health and to help limit the potential exponential spread of COVID-19, the Fairhaven Neighbors board of directors has cancelled the 32nd Annual Fairhaven Plant and Tree Sale.

Whatcom County announced its first community-transferred confirmed case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 10, and the Whatcom County Health Department has recommended that people of higher risk — such as those over 60, with underlying health conditions or with weakened immune systems — stay home and away from large groups of people. The Health Department is also recommending canceling or postponing non-essential large public gatherings of more than 10-50 people.

We’re going to miss seeing our wonderful vendors at this event, the loss of sales that directly supports small businesses, the wonderful sense of community this event brings, and the loss of fundraising proceeds that supports Fairhaven Neighbors and our designated beneficiaries this year: Unity Village and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities. We will encourage everyone to look out for their neighbors, and to shop locally and support small businesses… particularly for their plant and garden needs.

Thanks for your patience as we all navigate these very interesting times,

The team at Plantas nativa,
