Height: This perennial can grow from 3 to 5 ft. tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to wet soil in full to part sun.
Foliage: Lance shaped, green leaves grow in a circular fan shaped cluster.
Flowers: Small blue, purple, or red flowers grow in a large long spike cluster blooming in June through September.
Fruits: Hairy gray seed pods form after flower fades.
Natural Habitat: Found in most moist areas.
Why is it good for my garden? Lupine is a great plant to put in a moist or wet area. Easy to grow and grows pretty fast. The beautiful large flowers attract pollinators. Note that the seed are poisonous to human and livestock.
