Product Details

Height: This deciduous shrub can grow from 15 to 20 ft. tall.

Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil in full sun to full shade.

Foliage: Oval, pointed, alternate, green leaves. When leaves are crushed they smell like cucumber.

Flowers: Weeping bunches of small white flowers are the first flowers to appear in February and can bloom through April.

Fruits: Small, orange, pink, red, to finally purple blue almost black edible plums with large pits.

Bark: Purplish brown.

Natural Habitat: Found in forests to prairies.

Why is it good for my garden? Osoberry is a great shrub to have in your yard. First to bloom every season, so food for early pollinators and hummingbirds. Beautiful edible fruit for you and the birds. Easy to grow and does well in almost any area. Golden-crowned Sparrow love this fruit.
