Height: This deciduous tree can grow from 12 to 65 ft tall.
Habitat: Grows best in moist to well drained soil in full sun to open shade.
Foliage: Opposite oval to heart shaped green leaves that turn bright red in fall.
Flowers: Large 4 to 8 petaled flowers bloom April through June.
Fruits: Bright red fruit.
Bark: New growth bark is grayish purple and turns brown with age and is smooth.
