Flowers: Small white urn-shaped flowers appear April through June.
Fruits: Orange to red berries.
Bark: Super smooth bark that is bright green when a young plant and turns brown as it ages. When brown the bark peels back and falls off.
Natural Habitat: Usually found in dry, rocky, coastal areas. You can find some beautiful trees along Chuckanut Drive just to name one area around here.
Why is it good for my garden? These trees have beautiful year round appeal due to the unique bark, pretty flowers and bright berries. Attracts pollinators and birds with flowers and berries. Just remember if you do plant this tree it does not want attention and takes no care at all.
